by Langston Hughes

Directed by Pamela Davis Noland and Tonya Boyd Cannon

December 10 - December 20, 2020

Location: TBD

Black Nativity is a retelling of the classic Nativity story with an all-black cast. The play is traditionally performed in gospel style. Written by poet and playwright Langston Hughes, Black Nativity made its Broadway debut on December 11, 1961. Black Nativity is widely performed in cities across the country every holiday season, however No Dream Deferred will be the first theatre to produce the play in New Orleans. Start a holiday tradition by seeing it in 2020 and coming back every year after.
