Dream Studio '22 Classes

Acting for the Camera with Lakesha Glover 

What better way to understand acting for the camera than in the virtual space. This online course is a practical approach to understanding the skills needed to be a successful film and television actor. Topics to be covered include understanding set terminology, hitting marks, knowing different camera lenses and how to adjust your performance for each one, understanding the use of lighting, and an actor"s relationship to director, DP and script supervisor. This class will culminate in an exciting public presentation of scenes.

Playwriting
with Brian Egland

This twice-weekly online playwriting course will be an active learning one where the ideas, strategies and principles, won’t just be talked about, but done in real time.  It is the intention of this course to help the developing playwright to define their voice and perspective so that the words they write are the words they feel, and can be felt by those it's been written for. This course will culminate in public reading with professional actors.

Fundamentals of Facilitation
& EJIC Core Competancies
with Lauren E. Turner

Brought to you with generous support from the Greater New Orleans Foundation, No Dream Deferred’s Equity and Justice for Institutional Change (EJIC) program is offering an 18-hour training for those interested in facilitating organizations and institutions towards change. Join us for this comprehensive, foundational training that can be utilized in interpersonal, organizational and institutional settings. While this is not a certification program, participants will join a cohort that will become a part of a larger network of change agents and justice seekers.
